The application of turbochargers has increased rapidly during the past years and will still increase in future. For nearly all diesel engines the turbocharger is an indispensable component. Also the petrol-driven vehicles benefit from the loader technology. Great potentials are seen for the combination of direct injection and turbo-supercharging by downsizing concepts.
